Electric Cars have come so far that they often lead in acceleration. So lets look at the top performing Electric Cars and their top speed!

Tesla Model 3 Performance

It was hard to pick a “best of the worst” electric car. You may disagree since this car technically has 1 extra mile per hour on its top speed than the car that comes next. So technically this is the faster of the two electric cars but in real world practice, the one mile per hour isn’t going to help much when it takes 3.1 seconds to go from 0-60.

Porsche Taycan Turbo S

So again, you might swap the Tesla and Porsche here on account of the Tesla being 1 mile per hour faster at the top end. The reason we put the Porsche higher on the list is its acceleration. The Porsche gets from 0-60 in 2.6 seconds, a solid half a second quicker than the Tesla above. So unless the race is a long straight stretch that lasts longer than it takes for both cars to reach top speed, and even then it would need to be long enough for the Tesla to creep up on the Porsche with a speed advantage of only 1 miler per hour.

Tesla Model X Plaid

There should be no surprise that there would be multiple Tesla cars on the fastest electric cars list. The model X comes in nice and comfortable above the cars that came prior. It has the fastest top speed out of the cars covered so far, at 263Mph (again, by a single mph). But where this car is set apart is that it’s acceleration is better too at 0-60 in 2.5 seconds. So it’s faster on the top end and accelerator than the cars above it.

Lucid Air Dream Edition Performance

No much to report here, same acceleration as the Model X. The top end is about 5 miles per hour higher though, making it 168, so this car and the Tesla X would perform the same unless the run off is long enough to reach maximum speed.

Lotus Evija

A big jump in top end now. The acceleration takes a step back taking a whopping 3 seconds to go from 0-60. But its top speed is over 200 miles per hour, putting it at least 32 mph above the previous electric cars. So while it may not be first off the line, it very well could be the first to cross the finish given sufficient space for ramping up. Overtaking with a 30+ mph advantage shouldn’t be a problem.

Tesla Model S Plaid

Another Tesla on a list about Electric Cars. So there’s not a big difference in top end here, the Tesla S goes up to 200mph, whilst the Lotus gets just over 200. However in the race to 60, the model S is there in 1.9 seconds, a while second and a tenth faster than the lotus. With such a small gap in top end and such a difference in acceleration, we place the Tesla above the Lotus.

New Tesla Roadster

Now entering the realm of insanity with these crazy speeds. Just like the model S, this car gets to 60 in 1.9 seconds. The difference? if you put them side by side they’ll perform the same until the 200 mile per hour mark. Here the model S will hit its top speed, but the roadster has another 50 miles to give. That’s right, a top speed of 250 miles per hour, all with electricity.

Rimac Nevera

The king of fast electric cars. Slightly beating out the Tesla before it on acceleration and we mean barely. Teslas 1.9 vs Rimacs 1.85. 5 hundredths of a second faster. While the Tesla can go over 250 miles per hour, the Rimac can hit 258 miles per hour. Honestly it’s probably only a couple of miles quicker than the Tesla. Still its no contest, no matter how small the gap, both in top speed and acceleration, this car wins.

Our first record is set by Skoda. They decided they’d try their hand and succeed in an obscure world record. The Furthest arrow caught in a car (Which was 57.5m). A strange record, but not the craziest.

Fastest Jet Powered Truck

Stepping our records up a notch, we have the fastest JET POWERED truck! This behemoth managed to travel at 655 KM/H due to its insane 6,000 Horse Power. This was set by Shannen Seydel back in 1998. Since then nobody has dared to touch this crazy record.

Most Donuts Done Simultaneously By The Same Driver Record

This one is very impressive and it took our record holder (Naji Bou Hassan – Lebanon) over two years of training & preparation to perform and succeed in this record. He managed to drift 5 cars at once, making them all perform donuts. This was done by driving one car at a time, putting into a donut and then locking the accelerator down so that the car would continue doing donuts on its path. Naji would then jump out of the car and start up the next one. This one is so spectacular that we had to include a video.

Elon Musk is called a lot of things. Some people are die hard fans, others despise but regardless of what you think, it’s undeniable that he holds a record. And that is the fastest car in Space. Owning the Tesla car company and Space-X rocket company made this an ideal record for Elon to set. Launching a Tesla roadster into space, equipped with cameras that provide a live feed and a dummy who goes by “Starman”.

There are many world records related to cars, some of which are well-known and others that are more obscure. Here are a few examples of less-known car-related world records:

Longest journey by an electric vehicle on a single charge: The current world record for the longest journey by an electric vehicle on a single charge is held by a Tesla Model S that traveled 1,100 miles (1,772 km) on a single charge in 2017.

Largest parade of self-driving cars: In 2018, 55 self-driving cars from different manufacturers participated in a parade in South Korea, setting the world record for the largest parade of autonomous vehicles.

Fastest car powered by vegetable oil: The world record for the fastest car powered by vegetable oil is held by a car called the “Biodiesel Streamliner,” which reached a speed of 328 mph (528 km/h) on the Bonneville Salt Flats in 2007.

Most people in a Smart car: The world record for the most people in a Smart car is held by 19 people, who managed to cram themselves into a Smart Fortwo car in Hamburg, Germany in 2011.

Uber’s Concerned With Safety

Uber has been a huge convince too many people, the company aimed to revolutionise the public transport industry. Often referred to be one of the biggest Taxi companies without owning a single taxi vehicle. But how does one go about safely recruiting drivers if anyone can sign on? Well there are a couple of approaches that work well for Uber. Firstly they screen potential drivers before allowing them to take their first passengers. They are also checked annually for criminal history. The company also has a fair amount of safety protocols to do with the COVID-19 pandemic, however this is not the safety topic we’re discussing in this article.

Stepping It Up A Notch

So the drivers are checked, but that doesn’t help you in the moment. Well there are a few other things that are taken into account. Firstly passenger feedback is reviewed so if people think you’re sketchy you won’t last long. But even more impressive are the active measures, such as being able to immediately dial 911 (112) via the app and have it display a map, street names and other critical info you can quickly relay to your local law enforcement. Uber is known to share driver data with Lyft, a competitor in the transport space. However they put their differences aside to put safety first. If any driver is banned from one or the other company due to safety related reasons or concerns, the alternative company is given a heads up to avoid sketchy or dangerous individuals from hopping between the companies.

The Newest Uber Safety Feature

The latest feature might not actually be as new as you may think. Firstly the idea was introduced into Latin America over 2 years ago but it’s finally hitting other states and countries. The features allows both the driver and the passenger to record the journey without having to notify one another. These recordings are secure and encrypted and won’t be listened to unless a security file complaint is submitted, in which case the audio will be sent for review. This is a step in the right direction.

How do you think Uber is handling the safety of its passengers and drivers? Could they be doing more or is it already a more than reasonable effort on the companies part?

Uber, like any transportation option, carries inherent risks, but the company has implemented a number of safety measures to minimize those risks.

Firstly, Uber conducts comprehensive background checks on all of its drivers, which includes a review of their driving record, criminal history, and vehicle documentation.

Secondly, Uber has implemented a rating system, which allows passengers to rate their driver after each ride. This helps to ensure that only safe and reliable drivers remain on the platform.

Additionally, Uber provides riders with important information about their driver and vehicle, including the driver’s name, photo, and license plate number, which allows riders to confirm they are getting into the correct car.

Finally, Uber also offers 24/7 customer support, which riders can use to report any safety concerns or issues they may have.

While no transportation option can be 100% safe, Uber has taken a number of steps to minimize the risks associated with using their service, and many people find it to be a convenient and safe way to get around. Uber has made a number of changes to its safety protocols and has implemented new technologies and policies designed to enhance rider safety. These include features like in-app safety tools, continuous driver screening, and the use of real-time ID checks to confirm the identity of drivers.

Lets start with Dennis Retera, who is a Porsche driving instructor in Germany, he took a Porsche Taycan and took it sliding an incredible 26.2 miles (42km)! We wonder if he felt car sick at all?

This incredible feat earned the driver & Porsche the Guinness world record for longest drift in an Electric Vehicle (EV). The car drifted until its battery was depleted, a reported 210 laps until the battery was fully empty (The two models available are in 402hp or a 469 hp version with a 79.2 kWh or 93.4 kWh battery respectively. – We think it’s safe to assume that Dennis went with the latter, larger battery model). If you’re asking who held the record previously, well as far we as we know this was the first record for drifting in an EV, however, we still more to discuss when it comes to drifting, namely the records for non EV drifting.

Firstly lets quickly cover the fastest drift according to the Guinness World Records, it was set by a custom tuned Nissan GT-R NISMO, by the Japanese drift master Masato Kawabata. The peak speed of the drift was 189 miles per hour or 304km per hour. The record was set in Dubai.
The longest drift record for a twin vehicle drift belongs to the BMW M5, an impressive 49 miles (79km) was achieved, but that just wasn’t good enough for BMW, they decided to take another go at a drifting world record, this time being allowed up to 8 hours to get the maximum distance possible whilst drifting.

And finally, the longest drift ever performed is listed as longest drift in 8 hours, so you already know we have some serious distance to cover. Both this record and the Porsches EV drift record were done on skidpad. This record spans 232.5 miles or 374km! The car in question was none other than another BMW M5 although this model was a four-wheel drive, built with a custom jet style refuelling system so that the team at BMW could keep the car fuelled up so it could continue to drift for as long as possible.

Guinness say that any vehicle may be used as long as there is a differential between the ground speed and the driven speed. There are already attempts at beating these records, so keep an eye out for any record breaking moments in the drifting scene!

In order to become a Guinness World Record holder for car drifting, a driver must set a record that has never been done before, such as longest drift, most consecutive donuts, or highest speed drift. Achieving such a prestigious record requires an immense amount of skill and dedication, and requires the driver to possess an incredible amount of control over their vehicle. Additionally, the Guinness World Record for car drifting must be documented and verified by officials. This is to ensure that the record is legitimate and that all safety precautions have been taken into consideration.

Car drifting is an exciting and growing sport that has been gaining a lot of attention over the past couple of years. It involves driving a vehicle in a controlled and safe manner while gripping the asphalt with extreme precision and control. Drifting is a skill that requires a great deal of practice and precision, making it a popular sport amongst car enthusiasts.

The sport does come with its downsides though. Firstly there’s amateurs who practice in unsafe environments, trying to mimic what they see others do. Drifting in an inappropriate environment is risky for the driver, those around the area and the car. There is always a risk, so minimising it should be a priority. Finally the other main downside is the cost. The cost of specialist drifting gear is expensive and even if you stick with a stock car, the wear and tear will run up a bill fast, especially on your tires and fuel.
