The 2022 season is round the corner and Mercedes have shown off their new car with NO side pods! This genius ingenuity could spell dominance for the silver arrows once more. Needless to say Red-bull was shocked and stunned.

Mercedes have committed to ditching their side pods, other than that not a lot of info is known. We do know that the car can hit 0-62mph in just 3.2s and has a top end of 195mph. We also know from the looks on the Redbull teams faces that the car is extraordinarily. Mercedes are probably still a bit sore from last years championship (Max Verstappen Wins The 2021 Formula 1 Championship). So this season they are pulling 0 punches and with just weeks to go before the season begins Mercedes drop these amazingly fast cars.
George Russell At Mercedes

George is a former Williams Racing driver coming in to replace Bottas for the 2022 season. Russell has driven Hamiltons car in the past but there is no doubt Mercedes has been putting him through rigorous training. He has to at the very least out perform Bottas from last year, but ideally be closer to Hamilton in terms of performance. Will the young new driver spark a new rivalry and passion for winning at Mercedes or will their decision cost them dearly as the driver who usually drives as a back-marker or mid fielder in the Williams car is now in the seat of the championship winning silver arrows.
It’s Too Soon To Be Conclusive
We know as the season continues cars and teams improve, as do the drivers. Right now it’s no doubt Mercedes have all the aces up their sleeve but as we progress through 2022 we’ll see each team adapt and improve their cars as well as potential rule changes brought forward by the FIA.
Did It Pay Off?
The 2021 Formula One season was generally successful for the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team, although it was a more challenging season than previous years. The team finished second in the Constructors’ Championship, behind the Red Bull Racing Honda team, and their driver, Lewis Hamilton, finished second in the Drivers’ Championship, behind Red Bull’s Max Verstappen.
Mercedes had a strong start to the season, with Hamilton and his teammate, Valtteri Bottas, winning two of the first three races. However, as the season progressed, Red Bull emerged as a serious challenger, with Verstappen winning multiple races and leading the championship for much of the season. Mercedes struggled with tire management and overall performance at some races, but still managed to win several races and finish on the podium regularly.
Despite the challenges, Mercedes demonstrated their skill and resilience as a team throughout the season. Hamilton and Bottas both scored multiple wins and podium finishes, and the team continued to make strategic decisions and technical improvements to stay competitive. While they were ultimately unable to win the championship this year, Mercedes remains one of the top teams in Formula One, and they will likely be a strong contender in the upcoming seasons.
the Mercedes-AMG Petronas Formula One Team did not break any significant rules during the 2021 Formula One season.
However, like all Formula One teams, they were subject to the rules and regulations set forth by the FIA (Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile), the governing body of the sport. These rules cover everything from technical specifications for the cars to race procedures and safety protocols.
Throughout the season, the FIA monitors teams for compliance with the rules, and any violations can result in penalties, fines, or disqualification from the race or championship. While some teams have been penalised for rule violations in the past.
